At the Atelier School of Creative Learning, we believe that every child has an innate desire to learn about their world. That's why we follow a progressive, Reggio Emilia-inspired emergent curriculum that responds to the interests of the children and evolves throughout the year.
Our experienced teachers guide students' interests through appropriate scaffolding, group and individual discussion, and hands-on provocations. Allowing the students' interests to influence the curriculum keeps them fully engaged in the subject material, and fluidly evolves throughout the year. |

Young learners must feel safe and loved in order for them to be confident in their academic journey. That's why we strive to foster a strong sense of compassion and community in everything we do. We follow the principles of conscious discipline, and give our students the space to express their feelings openly. Above all, we strive to create an environment that inspires a lifelong love of learning, as well as a love of one's self. When we teach young minds the skills of how to learn, rather than simply what to learn, we can help ignite that spark of curiosity and give them tools for their journey.

"The child is made of one hundred.
The child has a hundred languages a hundred hands a hundred thoughts a hundred ways of thinking of playing, of speaking..." -Loris Malaguzzi (Translated by Lella Gandini) |
Our Mission |
To promote holistic and meaningful academic learning in core developmental areas through creative experiences. The arts excite our senses, our emotions, and expand our imaginations! Giving young children opportunities to engage in integrated open-ended experiences promotes dynamic thinking and creative problem-solving.

Our Philosophy |
The Atelier is inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational approach. This philosophy began in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and is world-renowned for the positive response from children and parents.
We celebrate the idea that each individual has unique insights, approaches, and methods in their learning process. Our activities are centered in creative experiences while integrating nature, science, literacy, history, or math.
We believe in an emergent curriculum, in which children are active participants in their learning. Teachers listen carefully to the interest of their students and develop curriculum to support this interest. We embrace a holistic approach to education as children learn best when they draw connections and ideas between many different subjects. We emphasize the importance of the journey or the process in learning. It is through the process that comprehension and understanding develop. Nurturing this process leads to meaningful learning and a positive relationship with school. We believe it is through open dialogue, respect, and acceptance that we can create a positive learning environment where children are able to express their own ideas. We value a social-constructivist view of learning and promote an environment based on respect. We are a community of learners always collaborating and learning from each other. |
