The Atelier School of Creative Learning has a brand new home beginning in 2021/2022 school year, designed specifically for the Atelier School, which houses six classrooms for our Primary Program, including Toddler & Pre-K classes ages 2-5 years!
When you first walk into our new school, you will see a welcoming, light filled piazza, which serves as a gathering place and a beautiful school library. To the left you'll find a spacious music studio with a stage for our student performances and special events. We also have a digital studio which gives our students a space to explore light and technology.
A large kitchen and sitting area connected to the piazza allow us to provide nutritional meals for our students and educational culinary experiences. Our large outdoor classroom is an essential part of our curriculum as our community works together to grow, harvest, and prepare many of the foods that we will enjoy for snacks and lunches.
Our classrooms are filled with natural light, and as always, are considered an “Atelier” or creative studio or workplace. Each atelier is designed to offer children an inspiring environment to learn, discover, and create. Our natural playground promotes creativity and the gross motor play that is so essential to child development through climbing equipment, water play, outdoor building blocks, an earth slide, and so much more!
We are located at 2130 Forum Boulevard, in the Forum and Chapel Hill area, tucked away on Colony Drive in the Colonies neighborhood. We are bordered by a beautiful nature area which will offer opportunities for field trips and explorations!
Six years ago, we embarked on this journey to bring Columbia its first Reggio-inspired school. Our commitment remains strong to bringing the very best early childhood education practices to our community. Benjamin and I, and our amazingly talented team of educators can’t wait to welcome you to the Atelier School of Creative Learning!
Cheers!
