Our academic programs enrich children's natural curiosity and love of learning with a truly holistic experience. Learning is more meaningful when we interact with materials and engage all of the senses. Big ideas are explored, and each class develops an emergent curriculum that evolves with the children's interests. Intriguing, open-ended projects promote creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Hands-on provocations bridge authentic learning experiences in science, history, geography, literacy, and math with the fine arts. |
Our classroom environments are specifically curated to enhance children's natural curiosity and exploration. If you peek into our classrooms you will find students engaged in individual and group work as they explore ideas, hypothesize, manipulate materials, and reflect on discoveries. Organic discussions among students and teachers provide a time for reflection and promote meaningful learning. Our low student/teacher ratio allows our teachers to support each individual child while promoting kindness, empathy, and mindfulness. |
We encourage long term process-based projects and value documenting the children's learning through observation, photos, and stories. Teachers document each child’s individual growth throughout the year in portfolios for each student. Making this learning visible is important in the learning process and creates a community among teachers, students, and parents. We cherish our strong and vibrant community, and nurture it by hosting many regular school-wide events throughout the year, such as seasonal festivals (Fall Festival, Winter Party) and fun events like Pizza in the Piazza and annual Ice Cream Social. |
